The National Society Of Film Critics apparently speak the truth, once every twelve months. Yes, I think it’s great recognition has been given to The Tree Of Life, Gary Oldman and Margaret, but I can’t say I agree with anyone giving Melancholia the prize for Best Picture. I’m also liking the inclusion of Viola Davis as Best Supporting here, as I never fully understood why she’s being pushed towards the Best Actress category. Best Director nods for both Drive and Take Shelter? This is my kind of Society!! It’s all pretty straight forward, but Detroit obviously love Gosling as they’ve given him recognition in the Best Supporting category for Crazy, Stupid, Love, bizarrely. It’s also interesting how it’s Felicity Jones and not Elizabeth Olsen who is included in both Best Breakthrough and Best Actress, but I’m expecting the love for Olsen to grow come January.
